What are the essential qualifications for an Associate Professor?

To be eligible for the Associate Professor position, you must have a Degree in Ayurveda recognized under Schedule II of IMCC Act, 1970/NCISM Act, 2020/ITRA Act, 2020. Additionally, you need an MD/MS (Ayu.) recognized by CCIM under Schedule-II of IMCC Act, 1970/NCISM Act, 2020/ITRA Act, 2020 in the concerned subject, and a PhD in the concerned subject. You must also be registered with the concerned State Board/Council or have Central registration issues by CCIM/NCISM.

What is the required experience for this role?

The role requires a total of Eight years of regular or full-time teaching experience in the concerned subject, with at least six years of postgraduate teaching experience after obtaining your MD/MS (Ayu.) degree. Alternatively, you can have a total of Eight years of regular or full-time research experience in a research institute or council after obtaining your MD/MS (Ayu.) degree.

Are there any publication requirements?

Yes, you need to have a minimum of seven high-quality research papers indexed in SCOPUS or Pubmed, or in journals with an impact factor (as per the journal citation report). This excludes papers from your own PG and PhD work.

Is there a minimum score requirement?

You must achieve a minimum score of 75, as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) based Performance based Appraisal System (PBAS) in accordance with UGC regulations and amendments.

Are there any desirable qualifications?

Desirable qualifications include experience in undertaking independent research projects as a Principal Investigator (PI), and experience in undertaking or leading sponsored R&D projects/consultancy and related activities. Publication of books is also considered desirable.
