What are the main responsibilities of a Deputy Director (UG)?
The Deputy Director (UG) is primarily responsible for the administration and academic oversight of undergraduate programs. This includes ensuring the quality of education, managing faculty and staff related to undergraduate studies, and implementing policies and procedures to enhance the student learning experience. They also play a key role in curriculum development and review to ensure it meets current standards and industry needs.
What are the essential qualifications for this role?
To be eligible for the Deputy Director (UG) position, candidates must possess a degree in Ayurveda from a recognized Institute/University. Additionally, a recognized Postgraduate degree in Ayurveda in any discipline is required. Crucially, candidates must be registered with any State/UT Medical Board/Council in India or hold Central Registration issued by the Central Council of Indian Medicine or NCISM. For experience, six years of Teaching experience in a recognized institution in any subject after obtaining the qualifying degree of M.D. or M.S. is necessary. Alternatively, six years of Research experience as a full-time researcher after possessing a Post Graduate qualification in any subject of Ayurveda from recognized research councils or institutions is also accepted.
What are the desirable qualifications?
Candidates with a Ph.D. degree in any concerned/allied/relevant discipline of Ayurveda will be preferred. Furthermore, having five (05) research publications in peer-reviewed or UGC Care listed journals, along with a total research/academic score of 120 as per UGC Regulations 2018 or latest recommended scores, is considered desirable.
What is the pay scale and age limit?
The position is offered at Level-11 (Rs.67,700-2,08,700) in the Pay Matrix of the 7th CPC, with NPA as admissible per Central Government rules. The maximum age limit for applicants is not exceeding 45 years, with relaxations applicable as per Central Government orders.
