What is the Assistant Mining Engineer job profile?
The Assistant Mining Engineer is a key role in the Indian Bureau of Mines. The primary duties include inspecting mines to ensure systematic development and conservation of minerals. You will also be involved in processing and reviewing mining plans, final mine closure plans, and analyzing drone survey or satellite images to update the Mining Tenement System (MTS) modules.
What is the minimum educational qualification?
Candidates must possess a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) or Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Mining Engineering from a recognized University or Institution.
Is there any experience required?
Yes, candidates must have at least 02 years of experience in core mining activities. This includes experience in a supervisory position in Metalliferous (non-coal) mines or working in a Government Department dealing with mines and minerals at Pay Level-6 or above.
What is the age limit for this post?
The age limit is 30 years for UR candidates and 33 years for OBC candidates. Age relaxation is provided as per government rules, including up to 10 years for PwBD candidates.
What is the selection process?
The selection is based on a recruitment process conducted by the UPSC, which may include a Recruitment Test (RT) followed by an interview. Shortlisting criteria will be applied if the number of applications is large.
