What are the essential educational qualifications for a Pharmaceutical Chemist?
To be eligible for the Pharmaceutical Chemist position, you must have one of the following qualifications:
- M. Pharm (Ayu) or M. Pharm in Chemistry/ Pharmaceutical Chemistry.
- M.Sc. (Analytical/ Organic/ Pharmaceutical Chemistry).
- M.Sc. (Medicinal Plants) in Phytochemistry.
- A Ph.D. degree in the concerned subject is also required.
What is the required experience for this role?
You need to have five years of regular/full-time teaching or research experience in the relevant subject. This experience must be gained after obtaining your Post Graduate (PG) degree.
Are there any publication requirements?
Yes, you must have at least five research papers published in journals that are indexed in Scopus or PubMed. Alternatively, the journals should have an impact factor as per the Journal Citation Reports.
What are the desirable qualifications for a Pharmaceutical Chemist?
While not mandatory, having the following would be advantageous:
- Research experience working on Ayurvedic or Natural drugs.
- Experience in undertaking independent research projects as a Principal Investigator (PI).
- Experience in undertaking or leading sponsored R&D projects, consultancy, and related activities.
