What is the Sports Officer recruitment at IISER Kolkata?

The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Kolkata has released a notification for the recruitment of a Sports Officer. This is a Group A, permanent position under the Ministry of Education, Government of India.

What is the minimum educational qualification required?

Candidates must possess a Master’s Degree in Physical Education and Sports or Sports Science with at least first class (or equivalent grade). Additionally, candidates must have qualified in the national level test conducted by the UGC or an agency approved by the UGC. Alternatively, a Diploma in coaching from the National Institute of Sports or an equivalent institute is also accepted. Candidates must also qualify in the physical fitness test as per UGC regulations.

What is the experience required for this post?

Applicants need 5 years of experience in Central/State Educational Institutes/Organizations of repute. They must have demonstrated meritorious performance in National or International level events at least 3 times in the last 5 years, represented their university/college at inter-university/inter-collegiate competitions or State/National championships, and have evidence of organizing competitions and conducting coaching camps of at least two weeks duration.
