Additionally, candidates must possess one of the following:

  • A recognized Diploma or Certificate course in Translation from Hindi to English and vice-versa.
  • OR Two years' experience of translation work from Hindi to English and vice-versa in a Central or State Government Office, including Government of India undertakings.

What is the selection process for the Junior Hindi Translator post?

The selection process for the Junior Hindi Translator post involves an Open Competitive Examination consisting of two papers:

  • Paper-I: This will be a Computer Based Examination (Objective Type Multiple Choice) with questions in both English and Hindi. There will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
  • Paper-II: Evaluation of Paper-II will be undertaken only for those candidates who qualify in Paper-I by securing a minimum of 50% marks. Paper-II is descriptive in nature and is designed to assess the candidate's writing and translation skills. It will include translation from English to Hindi and vice versa, précis writing, and essay/paragraph writing in both languages.

The final merit list will be prepared solely on the basis of marks obtained by the candidates in Paper-II.
