What is the role of an Assistant Registrar (Finance & Accounts)?

The Assistant Registrar (Finance & Accounts) is responsible for managing government finance and accounts rules, including General Financial Rules (GFR), audit protocols, tax regulations, and procurement processes. Key duties include preparing annual budget estimates, monitoring expenditures, performing variance analysis, and managing cash and banking operations.

What is the minimum educational qualification required?

Candidates must possess a Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade in a point scale from a recognized University/Institute. Additionally, candidates must have 7 years of experience at Pay Level-6 or 5 years of experience at Pay Level-7 in handling 'Finance & Accounts' matters as Superintendent/Section Officer/Private Secretary or equivalent in Central/State Government, Central/State funded Educational Institutes, or Govt. Universities.

What is the selection process?

The selection process for this Group A post involves a Written Test and/or any other evaluation process as deemed appropriate by the Institute for shortlisting. Candidates qualifying in the test will be called for an Interview. The final selection is based on the performance in the Interview only.

Is there any age limit?

The maximum age limit is 43 years for direct recruitment (including age relaxation for OBC-Non-creamy Layer). For deputation, the age limit is 56 years.
