What are the essential qualifications for a Professor?

To be eligible for the Professor position, candidates must possess a Degree in Ayurveda recognized under Schedule II of IMCC Act, 1970/NCISM Act, 2020/ITRA Act, 2020. Additionally, an MD/MS (Ayu.) recognized by CCIM under Schedule-II of IMCC Act, 1970/NCISM Act, 2020/ITRA Act, 2020 in the concerned subject, and a PhD in the concerned subject are required. A registration with the concerned State Board/Council or Central registration issues by CCIM/NCISM is also mandatory.

What is the required experience for a Professor?

Candidates must have fourteen years of full-time Post-Graduate teaching experience in the concerned subject after obtaining the degree of MD/MS. Alternatively, fourteen years of regular or full-time research experience in a research Institute/Council after obtaining an MD/MS (Ayu.) degree is acceptable.

What are the publication requirements for a Professor?

A minimum of ten high-quality research papers indexed in SCOPUS or Pubmed, or journals with an impact factor (as per journal citation report), are required. This excludes papers from the candidate's own PG and PhD work.

What is the minimum Academic Performance Indicator (API) score required?

Candidates must achieve a minimum score of 120, as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) based Performance Appraisal System (PBAS) in accordance with UGC regulations and amendments.

Are there any desirable qualifications for a Professor?

Desirable qualifications include experience in undertaking Research Projects as Principal Investigator (PI), experience in undertaking or leading sponsored R&D projects/consultancy and related activities, patents filed/obtained, and publication of books or technical reports.
