What is the role of a Physical Education Instructor (Female) at IISER Pune?

The incumbent is responsible for organizing and supervising physical education programs, sports activities, and fitness sessions (like Yoga) for students, staff, and faculty. Key duties include planning fitness programs, coaching institute teams for competitions, procuring sports infrastructure, ensuring safety protocols, and promoting a culture of physical wellness.

What is the minimum educational qualification required?

Candidates must possess a Master’s Degree in Physical Education and Sports or Sports Science with first class (or equivalent grade). Additionally, a Diploma in coaching from NIS or an equivalent institute is required. Candidates must also qualify in the physical fitness test as per UGC regulations.

Is there any experience required for this post?

Yes, candidates must have 5 years of relevant experience in a Central/State Educational Institute or organization of repute. They should also have demonstrated meritorious performance in National or International level sports events at least twice in the past 4 years, and have a record of representing their university/college at inter-university/inter-collegiate sports competitions.

What is the selection process?

The selection will be based on a Written Test, which may be followed by a Skill Test. The Skill Test will be qualifying in nature.

The maximum age limit is 38 years for direct recruitment. For those applying on a deputation basis, the maximum age limit is 56 years.
