What are the essential qualifications for a Laboratory Technician?
To be eligible for the Laboratory Technician post, you must have a Bachelor's degree in biology (with Zoology and Chemistry as subjects) or a B.Sc. in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or Molecular Biology from a recognized University. Additionally, you need a Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology from a recognized University or institute. Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology from a recognized University or institute is also accepted.
Is practical experience required for this role?
Yes, a minimum of one year of practical experience in a Medical Laboratory or Research Institution is required.
What is the selection process for this position?
Eligible candidates will be called for a Computer Based Examination (Objective Type Multiple Choice). There will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. A merit list will be prepared based on the qualifying marks (minimum 50% for GEN, EWS & OBC, and 40% for SC/ST category) obtained in the Computer Based Examination. Candidates in the merit list will be called for a skill test in a ratio of 1:5.
