What are the age and educational qualifications for this post?

Age Limit: 20-25 Years (as on 01 July 2027). Candidates born between 01 July 2002 to 01 July 2007 (both days inclusive) are eligible.

Educational Qualification: Graduation / Post Graduation with a minimum of 50% marks from a recognized University or equivalent is required. Specifically for Havildar (Linguist) Chinese:

  • Priority-I: BA/MA in Chinese Language. BA/MA in English with a Diploma in Chinese Language.
  • Priority-II: BA/ MA (English Literature) / BA/ MA (Political Science)/ BA/MA (History)/ BA/MA/BSc/MSc (Mathematics)/ BSc/MSc (Physics)/ BSc/MSc (Chemistry)/ BE/ B Tech (Electronics).

A bonus of 30 Marks will be added to the final merit for candidates possessing the education qualification under PRIORITY-I.

What are the physical and medical standards?

Candidates must meet the minimum physical standards as laid down, which include height, weight, and chest measurements. A detailed table for these standards is provided in the notification. Medical standards require candidates to have robust physique and mental health, normal hearing, and sufficient natural teeth. Candidates should not have diseases like deformity of bones, hydrocele, varicose veins, or piles.

Online registration is mandatory and must be done through the Join Indian Army Portal. Candidates need to log in to www.joinindianarmy.nic.in to create a profile and apply. Ensure you have an active email ID and mobile number for communication. Upload recent photographs as per specifications. Candidates must indicate five choices for the exam centre.

What is the examination pattern?

The Online Common Entrance Examination (CEE) will consist of objective type multiple-choice questions. The paper pattern includes:

  • Paper-I: General Awareness, General English, Mathematical Aptitude, Reasoning (Max 50 Marks, 50 Questions, 1 Hour).
  • Paper-II: Specific subjects for the respective trade (Max 100 Marks, 100 Questions, 2 Hours).

A minimum of 40% marks in Paper-I & II is mandatory for shortlisting for the next stage.

What is the selection process?

The selection process includes the Online Common Entrance Examination (CEE), followed by the Recruitment Rally (PFT/PMT/Medical Examination), and then an Aptitude Skill Test & Personal Interview. The final merit list will be prepared based on the scores obtained in the written examination and the Aptitude Skill Test/Interview.

Are there any specific instructions regarding tattoos?

Candidates belonging to tribal communities/tribal areas are permitted to have permanent body tattoos on any part of the body as per existing customs and traditions, provided they produce specific certificates. Permanent body tattoos of religious sentiment are permitted only on the inner face of forearms and on the reverse side of the palm/back of the hand. Tattoos on any other part of the body are not acceptable.
