All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhubaneswar, a statutory body under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India, is inviting applications for purely temporary contractual posts sanctioned under an ICMR Research project titled “Comparison of accelerated intermittent theta burst stimulation vs High frequency transcranial magnetic stimulation (Hf-rTMS) on cognitive symptoms in treatment-resistant schizophrenia: DB-RCT.”

What are the educational qualification requirements?
The essential educational qualifications are:
- For Project Research Scientist -II (Non-Medical): Post Graduate Degree in (Neurosciences, Neuropsychology, Clinical Psychology, Cognitive Science, Neurology), including integrated PG degrees, with three years of post-qualification experience or PhD.
- For Project Technical Support - III: Three years of graduate in psychology (clinical psychology) + Three-year experience or PG in a relevant subject/field.
What is the experience required?
Experience requirements are:
- For Project Research Scientist -II (Non-Medical): Three years of post-qualification experience or PhD. Experience in handling rTMS related research is desirable.
- For Project Technical Support - III: Three-year experience or PG in a relevant subject/field. A Four-year Degree in Neuropsychology, Clinical Psychology, Cognitive Science and experience in assessment in psychological scale is desirable.
What is the age limit for the posts?
The maximum age limit for the posts are:
- Project Research Scientist -II (Non-Medical): 40 years
- Project Technical Support - III: 35 years
Age relaxation is admissible in respect of SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates as per government rules. The cut-off date for age limit will be the date of Walk-In-Interview/Video Conferencing.
What are the emoluments/salary for the posts?
The emoluments/stipend for the posts are as per the guidelines and sanction:
- Project Research Scientist -II (Non-Medical): 67000 + 20% HRA
- Project Technical Support - III: 28000 + 20% HRA

What is the tenure of the appointment?
The assignments are purely on a contract basis for a period of 11 months, which may be extended for a maximum of up to 4 years or till the completion of the project, whichever is earlier, as per approval from the competent authority/ICMR. These appointments do not confer any right for regular appointment or permanent absorption.
What is the selection process?
Candidates meeting the age criteria and possessing the required qualification, experience, etc., will be called for an interview/personal discussion as through Walk-In-Interview. If applications are more than a screening round will be conducted.
What documents are required at the time of joining?
In the event of selection, a candidate must produce all documents or certificates in original relating to:
- Educational qualifications
- Date of Birth
- Experience certificates
- One recent passport size photograph
- Identity proof (e.g., Aadhaar/PAN/Voter ID/Driving License)
- One set of self-attested photocopies of all documents
- SC/ST/OBC/Disability Certificate, if applicable
Can I apply for more than one post?
Yes, separate applications should be submitted for each post.
Are there any restrictions for people already in government service?
People already in regular time scale service under any Government Department/Organizations are not eligible to apply.
What if I provide false information?
Submission of wrong or false information during the process of selection shall disqualify the candidature at any stage. If any declaration given or information furnished proves false or if he/she is found to have willfully suppressed any material or information, he/she will be liable for removal from service and also such other action as the Government/ICMR may deem necessary.
Is accommodation provided?
No hostel or any other accommodation will be provided by the institute.
Will I get a regular appointment?
No, these are purely temporary contractual appointments. Contract appointees shall not have any claim on a regular post in this institute or Funding Agency or in any Department of Government of India, and their contract service will not confer any right for further assignment or transfer to any other project or appointment/absorption.
What about leave and other benefits?
Leave shall be applicable as per Funding Agency/Institutional policy for contract staff of AIIMS, BBSR guidelines. Benefits of Provident Fund, Pension Scheme, Leave Travel Concession, Medical claim, etc. are not admissible.
