What are the main responsibilities of a Senior Superintendent (Accounts)?

The Senior Superintendent (Accounts) will function under the supervision and directions of the Controller of Finance. Key responsibilities include maintaining data in the Public Financial Management System (PFMS), managing budgeting and funds, overseeing banking operations, and maintaining books of accounts as per applicable accounting standards. They will also ensure compliance with all applicable legal matters and taxation matters (GST, Income Tax etc.), including the filing of returns. Additionally, they will coordinate with auditors, manage the drawing and disbursement of salaries, and process payments for various bills and reimbursements. They will also handle statutory deductions and file statutory returns. The role involves coordinating with other departments on revenue-generating activities and chairing committees as nominated. Assisting the Controller of Finance & Accounts in all matters of accounts, finance, and legal taxation is also a key part of the job.

The essential qualification for the Senior Superintendent (Accounts) post is a Degree in Commerce or equivalent from a recognized University. A working knowledge of computers is also required.

Yes, desirable qualifications include experience in Finance and Accounts matters in a Government/Educational Institute. The post is also open for deputation from analogous posts of Accounts cadre or with 5 years' service in the grade pay of ₹4,200 in the Finance and Accounts cadre.

For Deputation Post: The Pay Level is - 07 of the 7th CPC pay matrix. For Contract Post: The Fixed Monthly Consolidated Remuneration is ₹ 70,942/-*. The age limit is not exceeding 56 years on Deputation basis and not exceeding 35 years on Contract basis (as on date of closure of application). Age relaxation is admissible as per Govt of India Rules.
