What are the educational qualification requirements?

Candidates must meet the minimum educational and experience criteria specified for the Assistant (HR) post:

Detailed Qualification Criteria:

  • The candidate must possess a Degree recognized by the concerned regulatory body in India for the relevant discipline, from a University incorporated by an Act of Central or State legislature in India or other Educational Institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be Deemed as University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956.
  • Marks Requirement: Candidates belonging to UR/EWS category (and those from SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/PwBD applying against unreserved posts) must have a minimum of 50% marks in the Minimum Qualification.
  • Reserved category candidates (SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/PwBD) must have at least 45% marks in the Minimum Qualification.
  • The date of acquiring the qualification will be the earliest of: Last day of the month of the final exam, date of result declaration, date of marksheet issuance, or date of degree issuance. No relaxation will be given on this account.

Age Limit and Relaxation

The maximum age limit for the Assistant (HR) post is 30 years, calculated as on 27.04.2026.

  • SC/ST Category relaxation: 5 years
  • OBC-NCL Category relaxation: 3 years
  • Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD): 10 Years (in addition to category relaxation).

RITES regular/contract employees are eligible for a 5-year age relaxation over and above the upper age limit.

Selection Process for Assistant (HR)

The selection process is primarily based on performance in the Written Test, with a weightage distribution of 100%.

  • Written Test: 125 objective type questions, 1 mark each, duration of 2.5 Hours. There is no negative marking.
  • PwBD candidates are eligible for an additional compensatory time of 50 minutes.
  • Minimum qualifying marks in the Written Test: 50% for UR/EWS and 45% for SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/PwBD (against reserved posts).
  • Document Scrutiny: Based on written test results, documents will be scrutinized. Candidates must upload supporting documents substantiating all claims made in the application form. Inability to produce required documents at the time of verification will lead to ineligibility.
  • Medical Examination: Selected candidates are subject to a Medical Examination as per RITES Rules.

  3. Upload all necessary documents (Proof of DOB, Academic Certificates, Category Certificates, ID Proof, PAN Card, Experience Proofs) clearly and visibly.

  5. Download and retain a copy of the final submitted Application Form.

Required Documents for Verification

Candidates called for selection/document verification must bring original documents along with self-attested copies in the following chronological order (as per Annexure A):

  • 10th/High School certificate (DOB proof)
  • 12th Marksheet
  • Diploma / Graduation Marksheets & Certificate (all semesters)
  • Post Graduation Marksheet & Certificate (if applicable)
  • PhD Marksheets & Certificate (if any)
  • List of Experience certificates (including offer letter, joining order, relieving letter, pay slips, etc.)
  • Aadhaar Card, PAN Card
  • 02 recent passport size colour photographs

Job Location and Nature of Appointment

Job Location: Selected candidates shall be liable for posting at any place in India and abroad as per Company requirements. (Defaulting to All India for catalogue purposes).

Nature of Appointment: Initially on probation for one year. Continuance and confirmation depend on performance and document verification. Employees cannot apply for jobs outside RITES until completing 2 years of service.

Salary and Benefits (Assistant HR)

The pay scale for Assistant (HR) is INR 20,000-66,000, with an approximate CTC of INR 8.16 Lacs.

Benefits include DA, Fixed/variable allowances, Performance Related Pay, Medical facilities, HRA/Lease accommodation, contribution to PF, Gratuity, and Post Retirement Medical Scheme.

Test Centers for Written Test

The Written Test will be held across 14 different locations across India. Candidates must give two preferences during application.

  • Delhi/Gurgaon, Kolkata, Bangalore, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Guwahati, Lucknow, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Bhilai, Ahmedabad, Ranchi, Patna, Trivandrum.

Note: All centers except Delhi/Gurgaon are tentative.
