What is this notification about?
This notification is for the engagement of Project Staff on a purely temporary basis for the R & D project titled "Riparian Ecosystem Assessment of Mahan River and Bhongar Nala around Jagannathpur Opencast Project for the Development of a Conservation and Management Plan, Bhatgaon Area, Surajpur District, Chhattisgarh (CNP-3025)". The positions are tenable at CSIR-NEERI, Nagpur.
What are the positions available?
The notification is for the position of Project Assistant-II (PA-II).
How many vacancies are there?
The number of posts is 01. However, the anticipated vacancy for the post may be up to 4 nos. depending upon the availability of funds and candidates will be selected from the waiting list.
What is the essential qualification required?
The essential qualification is a B.Sc. degree in Botany/ Zoology / Fishery/ Environmental Science/ Agriculture.
What is the job requirement?
The job requirement includes field studies, sample collection, analysis, and report writing etc.
What is the age limit for the applicants?
The upper age limit is 35 years. This age limit shall be reckoned as on the last date of receipt of applications.
What is the salary offered?
The monthly emoluments are Rs. 20,000/- + HRA. There will be an increment of 15% after 3 years of experience in the same project.
Where is the place of posting and interview?
The place of posting is CSIR-NEERI, Nagpur. The place of interview is CSIR-NEERI, Nehru Marg, Near Ajni Square, Nagpur - 440020.
When is the walk-in interview?
The date of the walk-in interview is 24th March 2026. The time of reporting is from 9:30 am to 11:00 am. The gate will be closed by 11:00 am.
How will the selection be done?
Selection will be done on the basis of a Walk-in-Interview at CSIR-NEERI, Nagpur.
What documents should candidates bring for the interview?
Candidates should bring a passport-size photo, Aadhaar card, 10th (SSC), 12th (HSC), Graduate marksheets, Degree, Graduate mark sheets (one set photocopy and original) along with the filled application form attached with the advertisement.
Is there any application fee?
No, candidates are not required to pay any application fees.
Who is eligible to apply?
Only those candidates who have acquired the essential qualification & result has been declared (should have at least a provisional certificate) are eligible to apply for the particular position.
Who is NOT eligible to apply?
Result awaited /Final semester appeared or Ph. D submitted candidates are not eligible to apply for the position where such minimum essential qualification requirement is mandatory. Final semester and result awaited candidates are not allowed to appear for the interview.
How will experience be counted?
Experience, where required, will be counted from the date after acquiring minimum educational qualification. Dissertation/ Thesis work done during academic period will not be counted as experience. Time spent in acquiring higher qualification will not be counted as an experience over essential qualification.
Does fulfilling the minimum qualification guarantee an interview call?
Mere fulfilling of minimum qualification does not confer any right in a candidate for being called for interview. If a large number of applications are received, preference will be given to the candidates under the criteria adopted by the Screening Committee.
Will there be an online interview?
The notification states that shortlisted candidates will be invited for an online interview, and information will be uploaded on the website/portal. However, it also mentions "applicable only for walk in interview not online". This implies the primary mode is walk-in, but online interview might be an option for shortlisted candidates.
Can project staff be upgraded?
No upgradation of the project staff shall be done in the same or new project. However, candidates have to apply fresh, and if shortlisted, have to appear for the interview.
Can CSIR-NEERI cancel the engagement?
CSIR-NEERI reserves the right to cancel or withdraw the offer of engagement in case of any discrepancy found in the candidature of any empaneled candidate at any stage.
When do selected candidates need to join?
Selected candidates are expected to join within the time frame mentioned in the offer letter from the date of receiving the offer letter of appointment, after completion of pre-appointment formalities like medical examination, character verification etc.
What are the terms of engagement?
The positions are purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. The engagement will not confer any right for regularization. The tenure of project staff cannot exceed six or seven years as per CSIR OM No. 5-1(342)/2017-PD Dated 02.09.2024.
What about confidentiality?
Each selected candidate shall sign an undertaking for maintaining confidentiality of project findings and/or any associated intellectual property information.
Can engagement be terminated?
Yes, the engagement of project staff may be terminated at any time without assigning any reasons, by giving a one-month notice. The candidate can also leave by giving one-month notice or payment of one-month remuneration in lieu.
What about accommodation?
Project staff will have to make their own arrangement for accommodation during their tenure in the project. However, HRA shall be admissible as per applicable rules.
What is the duration of the offer letter?
The offer letter shall be issued to the candidate initially for a period for which funds are available.
Will performance be reviewed?
A review committee will assess the performance of the project staff and recommend for their extension, if required, subject to the availability of funds in the project.
What guidelines are applicable?
CSIR guidelines for engagement of project personnel, as made applicable vide CSIR OM No. 5-1(342)/2017-PD dated 02.09.2024/ 18.10.2024 and amended from time to time shall apply.
Will TA be paid for the interview?
No TA will be paid to the candidates for appearing in the interview in case of offline interviews.
