What is this recruitment notification about?

This notification is from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) for filling up Group-'A' Non-Academic posts on a Direct Recruitment basis. Online applications are invited from Indian Nationals for these positions.

What is the application process?

What is the application fee?

The application and processing fee details are as follows:

  • UR/EWS/OBC: Rs. 1500/-
  • SC/ST/PwBD/Women/Ex-Servicemen: Rs. 750/-

However, SC/ST/PwBD/Women/Ex-Servicemen categories are exempted from the application fee, but processing fee is being charged. The fee once paid will not be refunded or re-adjusted under any circumstances.

What are the eligibility criteria for each post?

1. Chief Security Officer

  • Essential: Commissioned Officer of Army/ Navy/ Air Force or Deputy Superintendent of Police or Assistant Commandant of Police/Security Force having a Bachelor's degree or equivalent from a recognized University with at least 55% marks and 15 years relevant experience (minimum five years in Pay Level-11 or at least 13 years in Pay Level-10). OR A Master's Degree with at least 55% marks and 15 years relevant experience (at least 07 years in Supervisory capacity in Pay Level-11 or equivalent). OR A Bachelor's Degree with at least 55% marks and 20 years relevant experience (at least 07 years in Supervisory capacity in Pay Level-11 or equivalent).
  • Additional Requirements: Should be able to ride motorcycle, motor car and handle firearms. Should be of sound health. Should be conversant with security rules and procedures.
  • Desirable: Training in enquiries & investigation, managing contacts, handling emergency situations (Fire Fighting, Rescue Operations, Floods, Earthquake etc.). Diploma certificate in Security operations/ Fire safety and disaster management.

2. Medical Officer

  • Essential: A recognized MBBS degree qualification included in the First Schedule or Second Schedule or Part II of the Third Schedule (other than licentiate qualifications) to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956, with completion of compulsory rotatory internship followed by at least 03 years of experience in a recognized hospital.
  • Desirable: 3 years work experience in a medical college or large Govt./ recognized private Hospital. M.D. or M.S. in an appropriate branch of Medicine or diploma in the concerned speciality or Super-speciality mentioned in Schedule-VI of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare notification G.S.R. 272(E) dated 07.04.2022. OR Postgraduate Diploma with at least 1 year experience in a recognized hospital. Qualifications preferably in Medicine/ Chest diseases/ Paediatrics/ Obstetrics and Gynaecology/ family medicine/Psychiatry/ others.

3. Medical Officer (Psychiatry)

  • Essential: A recognized MBBS degree qualification included in the First Schedule or Second Schedule or Part II of the Third Schedule (other than licentiate qualifications) to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956, with completion of compulsory rotatory internship followed by at least 03 years of experience in a recognized hospital.
  • Desirable: Three years' work experience in a medical college or large Govt./ recognized private Hospital. M.D. or M.S. in an appropriate branch of Medicine or diploma in the concerned specialty or Super-specialty mentioned in Schedule-VI of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare notification G.S.R. 272(E) dated 07.04.2022. OR Postgraduate Diploma with at least 01-year experience in a recognized hospital. Qualifications preferably in Psychiatry.

4. Career Counsellor

  • Essential: Master's in Psychology/Social Work/relevant disciplines with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade point average) from a recognized University/Institute.
  • Experience: 07 years of relevant experience, including 5 years in Psychometric test, Profiling, full-time Career Counsellor, preferably in an Educational/Career Counseling Center.
  • Desirable: Experience in group counselling and individual counselling. Certification in Career Counselling. 2 years of experience in Workshop management. Excellent communication skills.

5. Superintending Engineer

  • Essential: Master's degree in an appropriate branch of Engineering / Technology or equivalent with at least 55% marks. AND At least 08 years of regular service in Grade Pay of Rs. 6600/- (or higher) at the level of Executive Engineer (Civil or Electrical) or equivalent. OR Bachelor's degree in Engineering / Technology or equivalent with at least 55% marks. AND At least 13 years in Group A with 9 years GP 6600 out of which 4 years as Executive Engineer.
  • Desirable: Experience in coordination & supervision of construction and maintenance of Civil/Electrical/HVAC works. Experience in handling construction & construction management related software (CAD etc.).

What is the age limit?

Age limit is specified for each post. For Chief Security Officer, it is 50 years. For Medical Officer and Medical Officer (Psychiatry), it is 45 years. For Career Counsellor, it is 45 years. For Superintending Engineer, it is 55 years. Age relaxation is applicable as per Government of India norms and IIT Delhi rules.

What is the selection process?

The selection process involves screening of applications based on the data submitted. The Institute may adopt additional/higher criteria for shortlisting if applications are in excess. The ratio of vacancy to candidates called for Tier-II (Presentation) and Tier-III (Interview) is 01:08. All stages of the selection process, including document verification, are mandatory. Failure to appear will lead to rejection.

What are the required documents for application?

What is the pay matrix and level?

The Pay Matrix & Pay Level as per the 7th CPC is mentioned against each post. For example, Chief Security Officer is in Pay Level 12, Medical Officer and Career Counsellor are in Pay Level 10, and Superintending Engineer is in Pay Level 13.

Where is the job location?

The selected applicant will be liable to serve on any of the campuses of IIT Delhi. Therefore, the job location is IIT Delhi campuses.

What is the total number of vacancies?

The notification indicates 01 vacancy for each of the advertised posts (Chief Security Officer, Medical Officer, Medical Officer (Psychiatry), Career Counsellor, Superintending Engineer).

What is the minimum education level required?

The minimum education level varies by post. It ranges from MBBS degree for Medical Officers, Master's degree for Career Counsellor and Superintending Engineer, to Bachelor's degree or equivalent for Chief Security Officer.

Are there any special instructions for PwBD and Ex-Servicemen candidates?

Yes, age relaxation is applicable to PwBD and Ex-Servicemen candidates as per Government of India norms. PwBD candidates must have at least 40% disability. They need to provide valid certificates. SC/ST/PwBD/Women/Ex-Servicemen categories are exempted from application fee payment, but processing fee is charged.

How to apply if I am already working in a Government/PSU?

Persons serving in Govt./ Semi-Govt./ PSUs/ CPSEs/ Autonomous Organization etc., should forward the printout of the completed application along with all requisite documents THROUGH PROPER CHANNEL within 20 days of the last date of application submission. This should be sent via SPEED POST ONLY to the Recruitment Cell, IIT Delhi. No hard copy applications will be accepted BY HAND.

Is there any provision for TA reimbursement?

Yes, TA Reimbursement is provided only for SC/ST applicants (except those already in Central/State Government organizations, Autonomous Body, Public Sector Units etc.) who are called for certain evaluation processes. TA will be paid as per rules from the place of duty/residence to Delhi and back by the shortest route.

What is the age of superannuation?

The age of superannuation for the posts of Medical Officer & Medical Officer (Psychiatry) is 65 years, and for other posts, it is 60 years.

Can I make changes to my application after submission?

No, an application once submitted cannot be altered or resubmitted under any circumstances. Applicants are advised to keep all data/details ready before filling the online application.

What if I have a CGPA score instead of percentage?

In case of CGPA, the equivalent percentage should be carefully filled in, on the basis of the conversion formula prescribed by the respective academic institution. You will need to produce this conversion formula at the time of Document Verification.

What is the policy on legal disputes?

Any legal dispute with regard to the Selection process will be subject to courts having jurisdiction over Delhi.
